The EPA states that of the roughly 2.25 million tons of used and unwanted electronics each year, roughly 82% winds up in landfills. Do you have a working laptop or tablet (made within the last five years) that could be put to better use instead of adding to this growing heap? If so, please consider donating your unused laptop to at-need teachers in rural Guyana to equip them in equipping our next generation.
The majority of computer owners simply throw away their old devices. Donors to Guyana America Partners will have the added peace of mind that their personal data will be securely wiped to international standards while relieving the toxic strain on the environment. Most importantly, your laptop or tablet will allow Guyanese educators to better research, plan, assess, and communicate — using modern technology to prepare students for the modern world.
Most laptops will fit nicely inside a USPS Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box (13-5/8″ x 11-7/8″ x 3-3/8″). We suggest padding the container with bubble wrap, packing peanuts, scrunched newspaper, etc. so that nothing is damaged in transit. Please provide all discs and power adapters that are used with your laptop and mail to:

Your donation to Guyana America Partners is completely tax-deductible for the year in which Guyana America Partners receives the equipment. The deduction for contributions equals the fair market value (retail used-value in the current market) of the donated laptop or tablet. Shipping costs are also tax deductible under applicable rules and regulations.
Please contact us if you need a receipt of your donation for tax purposes, which we will forward to you upon receipt of your laptop or tablet.
